Seriously every review ever should be like this! They even added bass and drums to give us some idea how these guitars sound in the mix. Great job guys!!
Yessssssss, that's the spirit! :) We felt like doing something else this time and luckily the Thomann team is full with awesome musicians. That's our camera men / editors on bass and drums, Phil and Lukas. I love this team!! //cheers, Kris
@@Unknown-ko7xt I see you too hate retuning for different songs XD why spend 30 seconds tuning back to standard when I could just have another guitar already in it 😂
I was on the fence going insane over which one to get (only ever played strat style guitars, but I want more of that Britpop/psych rock feel so I was looking for a semi hollow)…… I ultimately went with the 339… it just felt right…. In fact it feels so right that I wonder how I ever lived without it. I absolutely LOVE the 339!!
Yesssss that rhythm section! I wonder how many youtube video teams could form a really cool band? I feel very fortunate to work with these dudes. (FYI: Phil on bass, Lukas on the drums. Both camera, audio AND editor guys) WHAT A TEAM!! //cheers, Kris
I'd say that the 100 sounds just a tad brighter/clearer than the rest - even the SC75-PVC! I really love my 100, i've had it for a couple months and really like how the upper midrange is present even when playing low notes on a guitar. Every note gets a similar amount of presence regardless of octave. I find that really helpful!
Great solo!! I've only been playing guitar for 7 months and already have three guitars 🙈 a mexican player strat, a baja tele and a cheap Ibanez acoustic. I don't have anything with humbuckers on and though I've promised myself not to get anything else until i reach an intermediate level.... that 335 is insisting that i should try it! 😬
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses - yeah thanks! i feel the 335 has a lot of aspects to it that are totally different to what I'm so far used to. The semi-hollow body, the larger body shape, the shorter scale length, the humbucker pickups and darker tone..... and when my rational mind tells me I don't yet deserve another guitar i hear another voice saying "think how good it'll look hanging on your wall! What piece of art could you get for that price!" 🙈
Nice choices. The 335 would probably be a good addition. For my tastes, a Baja tele and a 335 or 339 would be the ideal combination. I also have an Ibanez style string acoustic that sounds way better than the price would suggest.
Don't be ashamed. The amount of guitars you have does not have to reflect how long you've been playing or how good you are, just how much you can spend and how tolerant is your wife
This is the only video I needed to finally get an Epiphone ES-335. Bought the Cherry version too! You have no idea how many times I’ve watched this (or maybe you do).
Haha, that's so cool, thank you! We don't know how many times you've watched this but it makes the team super happy to hear that. 😅 We love making these jam videos, more to come soon! Congrats, these 335s are just so good! //Kris
@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses I was trying to decide between the two guitars which one I would like. They’re beautiful and you guys did a killer jam demonstrating both. Went with the 335 because it felt more comfortable for me. And the Cherry finish is beautiful!
I tried a 335 style Hagstrom once and despite I loved the tone... The guitar felt too big. It happens the same with dreadnoughts. The 339 is a nice alternative.
The headstock and neck look superb. Nicely dressed with the crown logo and white binding. Nothing fancy. Realy sets the body off, like youre not always looking at the WHITE inlays on the fretboard. Great session and guitar.
I had a chance to spend an afternoon playing the 335 and 339 side by side. Both were very playable(full disclosure: I usually play a strat). But what struck me was that that 339 is not just a miniaturized 335. That was sorta what I was expecting. The 335 had a much richer hollow body tone. While the 339 had a much tighter Les Paul sound without going all the way to a Les Paul. It was a nice compromise between the 2. The 339 feels heavier until you hold them both one after the other. Not much difference. I had also heard complaints about access to the upper register being more difficult on the 339. I didn't find this too be the case at all. Both the 335 and 339 had excellent access to the higher frets. Which one is better? That's an apples and oranges question. The 339 really is it's own guitar and holds it's own when compared to the 335. Having said all this, however, I think the 335 is the one I would choose. Of course if you want something to shred with I wouldn't suggest either.
That's a good point. I have both of these models and love both of them, but the Epi 339 is closer to a Les Paul or an SG in sound than it is to a 335, in my opinion. It's a lot "punchier" and in your face. I do prefer the neck pickup sound on the 339 though.
It doesn't matter how many guitars you own, everybody needs more and price wise these look tasty. I wonder what the quality of these are like over the long haul compared to recent Gretsch's? 😯
Hi, guys! I just bought a 339 from Thomann, but it does not have a split coil on volume pots, did something change on Epiphone 339 on 2023 models? The old ones had splitting coil option, as I searched on RUclips. Thank you! You are the best! 🤟🎸😊
I have one from 2017 and I absolutely love the sunburst finish and personally I would recommend the 339 to anyone with it not being as big as a 335 and not as small and heavy as a les Paul. But if you are looking for a guitar you should get a 339
@@calebjenkins9129 thanks for recommendation! At the very start of quarantine, I bought my first Epiphone, a Les Paul Studio LT. But I have always wanted a semi-hollow body electric, and this 339 sounds great.
I really love my 339. I can play jazz like joe pass. Then i pull the knob so it vexome single coil and jamming like albert king. Then i push the knob again and crank the distortion so i can headbang to thrash metal. Actually this jazzy guitar can play metal agressively.
I think Epiphone are going to knock it out of the park 2021 tonnes of new models, great features, headstocks, graphtech, cts......how are the f holes if they have tidied those up ....its gonna be perfect
